Green Bags
I'm in love!
Yes, with a product.
A product that keeps my strawberries (we buy tons in the summer), looking like the picture on the left as opposed to the right. The picture on the right always makes me feel like a poor steward of our money. It makes me sad that I spent money on something that wasted so fast. I hate feeling like I need to scarf something down in a matter of days.
AND...I actually bought lettuce a couple of weeks ago! This is monumental! Allen and I don't eat salad, lettuce, anything that tastes like grass and I have begun to eat it, to a small measure. Adding a little to my sandwiches, taking a few bites of salad, aren't you proud of me? Not only does it make me feel a little healthier, but it makes so much more sense when my lettuce lasts a couple of weeks instead of a couple of days.
The other great thing is that they are reusable. Just rinse them out and use them again! Isn't that marvelous?
I completely recommend this product. I am positive that I have already saved twice what I bought them for and I've only had them a couple of weeks. You can get them at Bed Bath and Beyond for sure.
Has anyone else tried these?
Do you agree that they are great?
I hope they also help you to buy less at the grocery store at a time where everything is getting so expensive! They might also be helpful for those of you who have gardens and grow your own fruits and veggies!
Me! Me! I use them, Kendra.
ReplyDeleteIn fact they're one of my newest pantry/refridgerator items. They came highly recommended by the parentals.
My produce intake is on the heavy side, so I'm thankful to have something that makes my yellow peppers last longer. Going to the grocery store is one of my least favorite things to do, so I do it seldom which makes lasting produce one of my FAVORITE THINGS!
Yay for the green bags!
My mom gave us about 10 of these, but I'm not sold yet. How do they keep the food from spoiling? They creep me out a little...
ReplyDeleteI used them twice on bananas, and they looked great on the outside, but were really mushy on the inside when I ate them. Maybe I did something wrong? I don't have the box they came in... maybe I'm missing something?
I think I will try them on strawberries next time, though. My only experience is with bananas.
Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI have found that they work better on fridge items. My bananas didn't seem to last that much longer than normal, and I haven't seen a huge difference with potatoes, but so far I have loved them with: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, grapes, lettuce, carrots, jalapenos...probably more, but that's what I can think of right now.
